Dave & Catherine – Faithleg House Hotel Wedding

As I’m sitting to write this blog and looking back over the images from the day I’m struck with what a job I have as a wedding photographer. Clonmel golf club was the first stop at 9 am on a stunning sunny morning with lots of promise for the day ahead. The groom Dave, his Dad, and groomsmen went out to play a round of golf and settle the nerves so like always I blended into the background and photographed the lads playing a few rounds and discussing the day ahead. A couple of miles up the road through beautiful forestry I drove to the girl’s house where the fantastic Hair and Makeup team, Maria Hickey & Yvonne Maher were getting the girls ready for their big day. It was lovely to be part of the girls morning, the house was full of a feeling of family with neighbors dropping in, Dad and her brother fetching flowers, everyone working together to prepare for this exciting day ahead. Catherine had her grandmothers wedding dress for her “something old” hanging next to hers, you’ll see it in the photograph.

Catherine arrived to the church in a beautiful cream vintage Royles Royce down a road that changed very little over the past century to Grange Church in a little village of Clonmel with her Father at her side. The emotion in Dave’s face as he waits for Catherine says so much about his love for her, It’s lovely to see Catherine being walked by her dad to the Man she is about to marry. Wedding photography is about capturing emotion, you’ll see from their photography its soaked in it. The Wedding Reception was held in Faithleg House Hotel, a stunning county estate Hotel built in 1783, this stunning hotel is surrounded by the fishing villages of Passage east and Cheekpoint, with Woodstown beach and forestry 15 mins away. Faithleg also has a fantastic golf which I took advantage of and took the bride and groom out to the golf course in a Golf buggy and spent about 15 min taking photos before dropping them at the door of the hotel in the buggy to dance the night away in faithleg – thats where my photography ended that day, on the dance floor with the bridal party rocking it out and getting cool dance floor images to end what was a fantastic day – that was a 15 hour day and i drove out of faithleg like I could take on another 15 hr day – people’s energy is infectious and to be part of such a lovely day sends me home a happy man.
